My dad turned 80 on February 20th. The original plan was to have a family get-together on Sunday the 19th, with a more special dinner at the Ateneum at Caltech on Wednesday the 22nd. (The Ath is closed on weekends and holidays, and President's Day fell on the 20th this year.)

We met at Carol's for chicken cacciatore, and had a great time. Gabriella came down on the train, and we stayed late to talk.

Unfortunately, back on the previous Thursday my dad had taken a fall while he was out on his daily morning walk. He was still the worse for it, with a big swollen right knew, bruises on his right wrist, and a nice shiner on his right eye. He went home a little early due to some understandable discomfort. We decided to postpone dinner at the Ath until he was feeling better.

Carole surprised me with a three-day trip to our favorite hotel in Cambria. We had a great time - well, except for a 70 mile drive for drive-through Carl's Jr.

On January 5, 2006, I rode my FJR to Chino Hills High School to watch my niece Samantha play for Claremont High School's Girls JV soccer team. I thought she did well.

I rode my FJR1300 to the American Le Mans Series race at Laguna Seca the weekend of October 14-16, 2005. I met up with my brother-in-law Cary, his brother Chad, their friend Dave, and my nephew John.

I rode my motorcycle to northern Washington for WFO-4, the fourth annual Western FJR Owners meeting, in early August, 2005. Afterwards, I met up with Carole and our friends Cindy and Ernie Peters in Victoria, BC for a few days, then I rode home down the coast. A great trip.

Carole, Mandy, Michael and I met at the Chart House in Malibu for dinner and a nice walk on the beach.

Carole and I spent two nights in Cambria for our anniversary in late June, 2005.

My nephew Sheehan and friend Sarah graduated from Temple City High School on June 24, 2005.

My cool nephew Sheehan played second base for the Temple City High School baseball team in 2005. This album contains photos from their final game, a 6-1 loss to St. Pauls HS in Santa Fe Springs, on May 27, 2005.

Carole and I spent a few days in Arizona in late May, 2005.

Jason's friend Dave, who always calls me "sir", got married on Saturday, April 16th. I took some pictures of groomsman Jason and his escort Jennie after they returned from the festivites.

I took a three-day trip up the coast at the end of March, 2005.

I went to the ALMS race in Laguna Seca on October 16, 2004 with my in-laws the Bowsers.

Pictures of some enhancements I made to the FJR1300. I installed Heli bar risers, added some wiring under the dash, installed a Valentine V-1 hardwire adaptor, and Magnum Blaster Horns.

My good friend Connie was laid-off by our misguided company after 14 years with MSC. We had a great going-away lunch for her, organized by her friend Lori.

I picked up my new FJR1300 on Thursday, August 26th.

Jake had a party on Saturday, August 7th to celebrate his fifth birthday. Pretty fun.

I served on a grand jury during May, 2004 in downtown Los Angeles. On Thursday, May 13th, I walked from the courthouse around Bunker Hill during the lunch break.

Here's the route: from the courthouse at Temple and Broadway, I walked west on Temple past the new Cathedral to Grand Ave.; south on Grand, then through the Water Court and down to Olive; north on Olive past the Omni Hotel to 1st St.; north on Hill to the Flag Court, then across Broadway back to the courthouse.

Carole took delivery of her car at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky on the coldest day there in over 30 years.
