Carole needed someone to take pictures of her new listing - new sister-in-law's Yvette's condo in Upland. Jeremy was her first choice, but he's under the weather, so I was drafted. I would have done it for nothing (especially for Rob and Yvette), but to keep things on the up-and-up, we agreed on a nominal fee for my services.
I drove out after refereeing the GU-14 TC Cup championship game. Carole's lock box key hadn't updated automatically, so I had to play around with the modem to get it to update. Next, neither Carole nor I could remember where the shackle codes were kept, until on the drive out I remembered that she stored them in the lock box key case. A quick call to Jeremy got me the code I needed.
I got there about 15 minutes late - I thought 40 minutes would be plenty of time to get out to Upland on a Saturday afternoon, but traffic on I-10 from Rosemead to Francisquito slowed me down, and I hit every single red light going up Mountain from the freeway to Foothill. Rob and Yvette were both doing some last minute things - a new thermostat, removing the beat up screen from one of the patio doors, and they didn't seem to mind.
I took a bunch of photos, installed the lock box, and got everything setup. (I forgot to take a Coldwell-Banker sign to put in the window - my bad.)
It's a nice condo. Rob and Yvette had planned on renting it out as an investment, but had weird problems with two different renters, and made the wise decision to sell it, and use the proceeds to fix up Rob's house, where they live with little Michael* and Trevor.
I posted all the pictures in a back area on the website, and sent Carole the URL for review. She's using dial-up right now, so I proportioned everything a little smaller to help ease her pain. Here's a view of the front of the complex - Yvette's unit is on the left, just inside the entry way.
*Michael's not that little, but big Michael is Carole's brother.
